The Fremont Silverwolves will have a new look on the sidelines this season. The Silverwolves hired Dee Morse to take the helm in 2011.
Morse didn’t play lacrosse when he was younger because it wasn’t available at this school. Morse began coaching in 2004, when he took on the the 5th and 6th grade boys and also started a 7th and 8th grade team in the same year which he admits “…made Saturdays a little crazy.” Morse stayed with the 5th and 6th graders when they went to the 7th and 8th grade team.
Now, Coach Morse looks to lead the high school program.
“There was an opening for the head coaching position,” said Morse. “I wanted to be more involved with these great young men.”
Morse has a specific philosophy and principles when it comes to coaching:
1. Relentlessly pursue excellence in execution.
2. Courage, Honor and Brotherhood.
3. Everyone give your very best, your very best at all times.
4. Love and patience are the greatest powers of influence known to man.
In 3 years, Morse hopes to have more support from the community, more young involved and more of the players having a positive influence in the community.
Outside of lacrosse, Morse enjoys family time, a variety of physical activities, reading about history and biographies of people of greatness.
Fremont will kick off their season on March 18 when they travel to Salt Lake City to play Highland.
