Girls Coaches Poll – Week 4 – March 27, 2012

Jordan and Bingham flip flop in the standings this week but are still separated by one point. Park City and Alta both move up one spot with Brighton falling two spots. Riverton, Skyline and Olympus round out the Top 8.

    Coaching is a huge part of the game at the high school level and only increases in input at the college level. Anyone who disagrees with that is a novice to the sport. Alta definitely saw a downgrade at the coaching position, not lateral (not laterial sp). There are easily three levels in this years league. The top level consists of Bingham and Jordan, the two only undefeated team outside of Tournaments. The second level consists of Park City, Brighton, and Alta. They are the middle of the pack sort of teams. The third level would consists of the teams that will most likely make the playoffs but get out the first round: Skyline, Riverton, and Olympus.

    Park City beat Alta, Alta beat Brighton, Brighton beat Park City(in the GOTTribes), Riverton beat Skyline, Skyline beat Olympus (in the GOTTribes) and Olympus beat Riverton.  Juan Diego beat Olympus and barley lost to Park City and Skyline.  WOW!!!  What a great year for Girls Lacrosse.  Jordan and Bingham have shown that they are the teams to beat, but after that, it is very even 3-9.

    alta is were they deserve to be you didint give them much more cred than anyone else as far as coaching i think the change is laterial not a down grade. having seen all the top teams play and coach aginst them I feel park city is up there with bingham and jordan in third with alta, riverton, skyline, brighton,oly.

    I think that Alta will end up being better than most people are currently giving them credit for. They have a history of proving themselves; however, I do not believe that they will be able to beat Bingham or Jordan this season. Those two teams are too deep and have significantly better coaches that Alta does this year. We all knew that Alta would have a drop off in coaching with Megan gone, but I don’t believe anyone thought that it would be this big of a drop off. I would predict that playoff standings will be:

    South-
    1. Jordan
    2. Bingham
    3. Alta
    4. Riverton

    North- 
    1. Park City
    2. Brighton
    3. Skyline
    4. Olympus

    Final four- 

    Jordan v Alta
    Bingham v Park City

    Finals- 
    Jordan v Bingham (Jordan wins by 3)
