Wasatch LC to Play at Fall Inside Lacrosse Invitational

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — It is safe to say Wasatch LC is having a busy fall. With scrimmages against some of the top Utah high school teams, as well as upcoming tournaments in Colorado and Maryland, Wasatch LC is doing their best to provide high-level competition for their players.

One of the major tournaments Wasatch LC will be competing in is the Fall Inside Lacrosse Invitational, held November 4-5. “For us to go into the hotbed of Baltimore and play at UMBC for two days is just good exposure for all of our players,” Larkin says. “It’s big for our program to get the name of Utah out on the East Coast and in front of big name coaches.”

The tournament last year featured over 50 college coaches in attendance.

Wasatch LC will also be attending the Pumpkin Shootout in Colorado. “We kind of wanted to test Utah against Colorado competition because normally Utah doesn’t get to play against Colorado teams,” says Larkin. “They have a lot more Division I players coming out of the state, […} so we know it’s going to be high level competition going to play against Denver Elite, Colorado Fire, the DOCO, just to name a few of the teams that will be there.”

The club also recently took on some of the very best competition the state has to offer in scrimmages against Corner Canyon, Olympus, Brighton, and Juan Diego. “Just a good experience,” says Co-Head Coach Danny Larkin. “We played the defending state champs Juan Diego and we ended up beating them 12-8.”

Part of the mission statement of Wasatch LC is to go above and beyond by “filming our games, recording stats, clipping highlight films,” and “emailing and calling college programs.” Larkin says, “Not enough players in Utah are getting their names out there unless they’re spending a ton of money to go play on these elite national teams to get their names out there.” According to Wasatch LC’s website, “We do not run this team to make a profit, therefore our team costs tend to be a lot lower than other teams.”

Wasatch is run by Danny Larkin, his brother Ricky, and the Larkins’ former teammate Adam Eddinger. For more information, visit Wasatch LC’s website.
