In the first game of the Girls D-I Semifinal double header at Dozier Field in Park City, Riverton clashed with Skyline for a chance to play in the D-I Championship game. Skyline dominated from start to finish winning 12-6.
Riverton controlled the first draw but quickly turned the ball over and Skyline’s Annie Glenn. Riverton was able to control the next draw but it resulted in the same. A turnover and and a Skyline goal, this time by Anna Ferreira. The two teams swapped goals to bring the score to 3-1 early in the first half. Skyline was not pulling any punches and scored three quick goals two more by Glenn and one by Julia Thomas. Riverton’s Kelsey Brown was trying to keep the game from getting out of hand and added one on a nice cut to the goal to bring the score 6-2. The Eagle defense was playing hard as they were able to go on another three goal run to bring the score to 9-2. Kaylee Poulson was able to break the drought for the Silverwolves and was able to slot on home to bring the score 9-3. After a foul on Mikala Anderson, Skyline was able to get another one on an empty net two hit double digits. Riverton fought back with a goal by Nikki Thomas to bring the score to 10-4.
