Megan Freeman Shoots On Goal

The No. 4 Lehi Pioneers upset the No. 2 Herriman Mustangs in the Semifinals of the 2013 Girls D-II Playoffs by the score of 8-6 on Monday night in Park City.

“We’ve always been underdogs this year,” said Lehi Head Coach Greg Freeman. “We’re a young team. At the start of the season we made shooter shirts that said ‘Believe’. The last four games we finally became full strength and we’re playing our best lacrosse right now.”

Herriman scored first when Allie Lambert went iso from the top of the box and shot at the 8m arc, bouncing it in to give the Mustangs the early lead. Lehi answered when Megan Freeman wrapped around from X to tie the game at 1. Both goalies saved free position shots to keep the game even midway through the half. Read More

Hailey Kenney - Herriman Mustangs Girls Lacrosse

The Herriman Mustangs beat the Timpanogos Timberwolves on Wednesday in a key Girls D-II South Conference game. The Mustangs used a strong first half to dominate the game, winning 10-3.

Herriman was able to get into their groove early in the game, scoring their first goal at the 23:13 mark when Allie Lambert found the back of the net. Ten minutes of play passed with both teams getting good opportunities but lacked the final pass or shots just barely missing the cage. Both goalies had great saves to keep their teams in the game. With 13:18 left in the first half, Maddie Kondris was able to convert a free position attempt to go up 2-0. The Mustangs used that momentum to play solid defense, not allowing the Timberwolves any space to operate and continually pushing out, causing several turnovers. Lacie Bozeman scored next at the 10:00 mark. Hailey Kenney followed up with a textbook fast break play and another goal 3 minutes later to give Herriman a cozy 5-0 lead with 5 minutes left in the half. Hailey Reading scored her eighth goal of the season followed by another goal by Kondris. Kenney capped off the first half scoring with 1:24 left to give Herriman a 8-0 lead at halftime. Read More
