The Brigham Young University men’s and women’s lacrosse programs are set to hold their annual sports camps on the campus […]
UPDATE: The game has been rescheduled for 12:00 p.m. The broadcast will begin at 11:45 a.m.
As part of Utah Lacrosse News’ increased coverage of lacrosse in Utah, ULN will be broadcasting select games throughout the high school season known as ULN Featured Games. These games will be announced throughout the coming weeks during the boys and girls high school season. ULN’s first broadcast will be the Brighton vs. Juan Diego game on March 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. MST. An embed of the broadcast can be found on the game’s event page on the Utah Lacrosse News website.
Juan Diego comes into the game ranked No. 1 in the ULN Coaches Poll, with Brighton right behind at No. 3.
The game is a highly anticipated rematch of the Boys Class A state championship from last year, when Juan Diego edged Brighton in the final minutes to seal a 10-9 victory with 15 seconds remaining.
Juan Diego returns their starting defense, arguably the best in the state, but must replace last year’s starting goalkeeper Brendan Roberts who registered a 58.14 save-percentage last year for the Soaring Eagle.
Brighton’s key losses include last year’s leading scorers in Tennison Schmidt and Noah Lund. Easton Albert, Brighton’s No.2 scorer in points-per-game is returning and will provide a major test for the Juan Diego defense.
The broadcast will begin at 11:45 a.m. MST.
