The Jordan Beetdiggers used a seven goal run in the first half to propel it to a 15-8 win over Davis on Saturday in the Girls Division II Championship game at Skyline High School.
Davis started the game on fire with two quick goals, one by Aimee Bowen and the other by Bethany Richards. Five minutes later, the Beetdiggers began its run, beginning with Raegan Davenport finding the back of the net. Lexi Burns scored back-to-back goals followed by Red Thompson. Mayo Thayne and Davenport scored two quick goals for the Beetdiggers followed by a back-handed hidden-ball trick goal by Paige Williams to end the run. Bowen found the back of the net for the Darts with just over a minute left in the first half. Davenport scored her third goal of the game with 7 seconds left, making the score at halftime 8-3 for Jordan.
Richards scored the first goal of the second half for the Darts on a free-position opportunity. The Beetdiggers then went on a four goal run with goals by Emme Laro, Thompson, Bailey Johnson, and Thayne. Annabelle Roche pulled a goal back for the Darts when she drove across the middle and bounced it in. Jordan scored two more goals before the Darts went on a three goal run to give the Davis faithful hope in a comeback. The Beetdigger defense held strong and the Jordan offense successfully finished the game while adding a goal by Johnson.
Jordan was led by Davenport who had 3 goals and 1 assist. Thompson had 2 goals and an assist. Davis was led by Bowen who had 4 goals.
